Background (mogelijk gemaakt door onze grootse DM)
Elwyn was born into a world of magic and wonder as the firstborn daughter of King Erlund and Queen Erialin. She was born on a bright and sunny day, with a tuft of fiery red hair and bright blue eyes. From a young age, Elwyn knew that she was destined for great things, and her parents made sure she was well-educated and well-prepared for her future as a ruler.
When Elwyn was just eight years old, strange things began to happen in the Phoenix Kingdom. Elementals, creatures made of fire, water, earth, and air, began to attack settlements and villages across the land. The kingdom was thrown into chaos as people struggled to defend themselves against the elemental threat. This put a strain on Elwyn’s childhood and the time she would spend with her parents. As her father, King Erlund, was a powerful battlemage and knight of the Phoenix Order: he would often be away from home, found only on battlefields. Her mother, Queen Erialin, was a powerful mage and inquisitive scholar, she would only study the elemental threat and seek ancient lost libraries for ways to battle the elementals. Elwyn was left to be raised by the servants.

Two of the most influential people in Elwyn's life were Gregor, the Grandmaster of the Knight Order of the Phoenix Knights, and Godot, a Prophet of the Phoenix Elstra. Gregor had always tried to instill a fighter's spirit in Elwyn, teaching her the importance of strength and courage in the face of danger. Godot, on the other hand, tried to instill compassion into Elwyn, showing her the importance of empathy and understanding. Elwyn was drawn to the viewpoints of both men in different ways, but she struggled to reconcile them. Gregor saw the world as a battlefield, where strength and skill were necessary to survive. Godot saw the world as a place of connection and compassion, where understanding and love were the most important qualities.

One day, as Elwyn was studying philosophy in the palace library, she realized that she had been drawn to the subject because it allowed her to explore the differences between Gregor's and Godot's worldviews. She began to read everything she could about philosophy, studying the great thinkers of the past and the present. As Elwyn delved deeper into philosophy, she began to see the world in a new way. She realized that both Gregor and Godot had been right in their own ways, but that there was more to the world than just strength and compassion. She saw that the world was a complex and multifaceted place, full of contradictions and uncertainties. This acceptance of uncertainties ultimately led her to view the world in her own unique way. She discovered that she was able to manifest not just what was, but what could be. One day, as Elwyn was walking through the forest next to the city of Brist, she came across an old man sitting by a stream. The man introduced himself as Aland, a wise but eccentric philosopher. They talked for hours, and Aland shared his insights into the mysteries of the world. He spoke of the power of the mind and the importance of balance and harmony. As they talked, Elwyn didn’t quite know what to make of the now three men and their viewpoints.

But good times always end, disaster struck, the capital city of Brist came under attack. The battle went seemingly well, with Godot’s order of defenders banishing elementals quicker than they could form again. But it seemed fate was in a bad mood that day: the very sky cracked and came falling down in small shards. It seemed as if it was snowing glass. Suddenly, the magical blades the Phoenix Knights used to fight seemed to be dulled, as they were just straightened chunks of steel. The Phoenix Defenders were no longer able to Banish elementals, as if their voice to say the magical words had been taken from them. The Battlemages could no longer call forth the tide of flames to repel the assault from the waterfront, as if their fingers no longer knew the magical symbols. The battle turned sour and half the city of Brist had fallen in a matter of minutes. Now the forces had retreated to the inner keep and it was here where Elwyn saw the lives of people she had known her entire life be snuffed out. She tried to manifest the form of the mighty phoenix, but she was not ready and thus she was not able to. Yet she did manifest something, a faint hint of orange-golden wings. For some reason her magic had still retained its effects and now she turned to the elementals. She fought fiercely, but numbers can overwhelm even the greatest warrior, and earth elemental slammed her through the ground, the brickwork underneath gave way and she fell down. As everything went dark the last thing she heard was her father screaming her name in agony.

Unbeknownst to all, underneath where she stood lied the Arcaneum. She fell into a well of fading magic. As the blood of various friends, comrades and even family dripped down ruined brickwork into the hole. Here in this magic well: fading magical energy, falling glass, blood, the body of a young woman and most importantly, uncertainties of both mind and matter. An orange-golden phoenix rose from the darkened well, the phoenix used its powerful wings to sweep aside elementals and magical breath to sally out the inner keep. Those who knew saw the mannerisms of the late Elwyn within the movements of the golden tide that scoured the city clean. When all was said and done, Elwyn returned to check upon the wounded, while many had lost their lives her parents had both lived. The king was grievously wounded, but not fatally so.

While not all recognized Elwyn as she entered the keep, the young woman had gone through quite the change in appearance, her hair had turned a pure white and her eyes, while blue, had a certain… astral spark to them… When things had quieted down she often visited the forest, hoping to meet a certain eccentric philosopher. But he seemed to be absent. Yet one day he appeared sitting alongside a stream. He offered her bread with fish he just caught and they spoke. They spoke of uncertainties, powers, beings, planes, lives, elements and masters of all the elements. Aland gave her a final parting gift, a special ritual that would enhance her powers. Aland told her it was given because he wanted to see her full potential. After the ritual Elwyn felt her mind enlightened and her body strengthened. She felt what was beyond humanly possible. But who knows, perhaps she was no longer human anyways…
